Young & Restless - Questions of the Week

I admit it. I'm a Y&R addict. Truthfully I started watching all the CBS soaps at an early age. It's a good thing most of them are off the air now. How did stay at home moms ever get anything done between 12:30pm - 4:00pm?? I try and watch while Greyson is napping. But, he has seen it enough  to smile when he hears the theme music.

Most of the years I was working, I didn't really keep up with any of them. Until about five years ago - I discovered SoapNet. My daily routine was to come home from work, get dinner started, pour a glass if wine, and park myself in front of the tv for my Y&R fix. I truly believe this is the real reason Grant was so encouraging for me to stay at home with Greyson - no more soap opera to suffer through from 7:00 - 8:00 every night....
My best friend catches it in the evenings when she gets home from work as well. Our usual texts or emails contain no "How are you?" or "Did you have a good day?". Its more like, "Adam's best line yet!!!" or "What is Phyllis wearing???". We spend more time discussing the latest in the GC than our own lives. Below are some of our favorite topics.

1. Are they really selling Jabot Cosmetics? And who is buying it?? And if Tracy Bergman (Lauren) really wears it, I might try it out. That woman hasn't aged in 20 years.

2. Why is Victor still in fight scenes? He's way too old to be kicking ass and taking names. Eric Braden is 70 years old. I'm not sure how old Victor is suppose to be. But, I know he is too old to take on three 20 year olds in a bar fight. It must be the black t-shirts he always wears....

3. Why is Devon credited as "Bryton"? Who does he think he is? Bono? I think not.

4. When is Nikki going to fall off the wagon again? Who doesn't love drunk Nikki?
Nobody does it better than Melody Thomas Scott.

5. When is drunk Nikki going to murder someone else so Ronan can come back and investigate? I miss his huge crime board with the sheet covering it....

Stay tuned for more burning questions!

Vacation Dreaming

We were hopeful to go on a more exotic vacation this summer. I always enjoy our yearly family vacations with both sides of our family. And we are fortunate to have cool places to visit with them - a lake home, St. Simons Island, Naples, Florida. This year we were planning an additional vacation with just the three of us. But, you know the saying - "life happens while you are busy making plans"....
Well, we are now planning for a new baby this summer. Of course that is more exciting than any silly ol vacation. But my fingers are crossed for you, Turks and Caicos. See you next year. Until then I can revisit vacations past:

Envisioning that I am here again:

Marina Fiesta Resort
Cabo San Lucas

or here:
Pueblo Bonita Rose

Happy Vacation  - wherever  you go this year!

I love you, Target Fresh Grocery

I'm not sure what it says about me that I am this excited about Target adding the Fresh Grocery to my local store. I'm really not sure what it says that I feel compelled to blog about it. But, no doubt I looked insane taking pictures (see below).  I don't care - I'm in love.

I really wanted to take more pictures. But that would have been really strange. Right??
Anyway, here are a few of my purchases (and none being from the fresh grocery. What can I say? I just love Target...)

Liz Lange Maternity Dress

I first saw this shirt on one of my favorite blogs. I shamelessly copied the cool mommy and bought one for Greyson's Easter basket too.
And speaking of Easter baskets - below are a couple of my other finds.

Play-Doh Easter Eggs

Happy Munchies
Organic broccoli, kale, & cheese

These are Greyson's favorite. I keep them in stock even though they are expensive. Target sometimes has them for a little less.

For my Easter basket
Limited Edition Method all purpose cleaner
Lime + Sea Salt

Maternity Monday: Must Haves Part 1

It's only been sixteen months since I had a baby. But there are so many cool, new baby products out there right now. I'm going to assume they are new anyway. How could I have missed these items the last go around?!

B. Box bottles

These bottles come with a compartment for dry formula. When your little one gets hungry, just push the powder into the water, shake and serve.
I only breastfed for about three months with Greyson. These would have been awesome thereafter!

Magnificent Baby's bodysuits & sleepers

These are much more than I would normally pay for a bodysuit. But magnets instead of snaps? I'll take at least three, thank you. What a godsend for midnight changings and travel.

Greens Sprouts Disposable Compressed Wipes

Tired of carrying around that huge pack of wipes?
A drop of water is all you need to expand these into a soft, natural baby wipes.
Love.

Huggie Bear

Heat this little guy in the microwave and he'll help calm baby with a warm lavender scent.
He might not be a must have....but I can't resist.

Jahgoo Bath Positioner

Love the cool design - for same value as function.
Only $15!!

And now for the "If I was a celebrity mom" pick of the day....

Zen Stroller by Bloom

Now I wouldn't trade my BOB Revolution for anything. But, this stroller is pretty neat. Not only is a piece of neon goodness, it folds up to fit in the (most) smallest of cars.

Hope you enjoyed my round up. Check in next Monday for part two!

Sneak Peek

Where has this week gone? Between travel and doctor appointments, I have taken a bit of a blog vacation. But, I have also been busy sorting, photographing, and pricing items for my little Etsy shop, Teal Door Vintage. The process is taking much longer than I anticipated. But here are a few items you'll be able to purchase very soon:

Necklace 1980s

Earrings 1960s

Necklace 1980s

Forgive the poor picture quality. I didn't realize how hard it would be to photograph jewelry and clothing. I'm becoming close pals with my digital camera instruction manual!
Looking forward to sharing more very soon.
Have a great weekend!

Living Room Daydreaming

The daydreams I have been having about redecorating my living room! I guess trying to sell your home ( or more so the thoughts of a new home) will do that to a girl. It all started with just an idea to replace my lamps.
It went from this:

Cleo Lamp - Crate & Barrel

To this:

And moving along to this:

Elle Decor

And....

Elle Decor

I have never used this color palate. But, I am strangely drawn to it.
Maybe one day......

And can we throw in these too?

Elephant Bookends
One Kings Lane

Happy Weekend. And happy dreaming!

Champagne Punch

I almost forgot how much I enjoy a good champagne punch! At my recent Stella & Dot party I mixed up some using my favorite recipe (passed down from my mom of course). Although I can't indulge like I normally would, I did have more than a sample. It is too good to pass up. Perfect refreshment for a shower or afternoon party. I served mine in a pitcher rather than a traditional punch bowl. But either way makes a lovely presentation.

Hamby's Champagne Punch

2 (33.8) bottles gingerale, chilled
1 (6oz) can frozen lemonade
Maraschino Cherries - as many as you like
1 (12 oz) can frozen orange juice
1 (25.4) bottle dry champagne, chilled (I added a little more for good health)

Mix together in punch bowl or pitcher.
Makes 18 Cups
Garnish with fresh fruit of choice.

(I also freeze some lemonade ice cubes to help keep punch chilled)

Enjoy!

Maternity Monday: Maternity clothes I would actually wear

The unfortunate thing about maternity shopping (besides feeling like a fat blob) is all the really cute stuff is ridiculously priced - and what's left is not so hot. Most things I wear are not even maternity. But, here are a few cute options that won't break the bank. Old Navy Maternity wins hands down.

1. Stripe Dress - Motherhood Maternity
2. Maxi Dress - Old Navy Maternity
3. Flower Print Dress - Old Navy Maternity
4. Halter Dress - Old Navy Maternity
5. Cropped Jean Jacket - Old Navy Maternity
6. Maxi Skirt - Old Navy Maternity
7. Fitted Stripe Dress - Liz Lange for Target
8. Arizona Dress - (if I was a celebrity mom) Tibi

Stella & Dot

I'm hosting my first Stella & Dot party this Sunday. Looking forward to seeing some girlfriends and  doing a little jewelry shopping! I've been super impressed with Stella and Dot - from the products to the great packaging. I have my eye on a few pieces for Mother's Day gifts (and a few little goodies for myself). Here are a few of my favorites so far:

Bamboleo Necklace

Heiress Hoops

Garden Party Chandelier Earrings

Renegade Cluster Necklace

There is a layering necklace that looks great with this too.

It's going to be hard to narrow down my selections!

See anything you like?

Maternity Monday: If I was a celebrity mom

Happy Monday! I recently started looking at convertible cribs. And I realized unless you are willing to spend a ridiculous amount of money -  all cribs pretty much look the same. And why such a drastic price difference?

Exhibit A: Crib I would purchase if I was a celebrity mom
Spot on Square's Roh crib ($1,590) blends two trends - acrylic and dual-tone cribs. The eco-friendly crib comes with either one acrylic side or two

Exhibit B: Crib similar to one I would like to purchase

Amazon - Baby Mod
Approx $250/Free shipping

Exhibit C: Crib we will most likely purchase

Craigslist

We will be lucky to get a picture
